The Truth
Inner beauty doesn’t recede with the sands of time
But yours didn’t show the difference between hearts and houses
Your ruby mouth and coal eyes were a sight to behold
Now held too long, they’re burning me in a pyre of blood and ashes
Change
Never have I seen you in the face
Admitting to the poison staining our ties
You turned a blind eye to your crumbling facade
Without a new antidote to fix the mistake
Now I see you twisting away from my cries
Darkness
The flickering light that had always lived in your soul
Has now travelled beyond the promises of a battery
To a graveyard that haunts all of the bereaved
With walls that radiate an energy of its own.
Very powerfully worded poems Shruthi! A treat to read.
